Electrical Appointment

Today I attended our electrical appointment by myself as my wife had to visit the doctors. Peter our consultant went through a lot of things and frankly I wish I had more time as two hours went by very quickly. Anyway I only went over budget by $400 and managed to get a lot for $6K.

This is what we ended up with:

• Pre-wired fan in Main Bedroom & Alfresco
• 4 x 11 Watt LED Downlights in Alfresco, Home Theatre, Family & Dining Rooms 
• 3 x 11 Watt LED Downlights in Kitchen & Patio
• Baton Holders in Bedrooms 2,3&4, Laundry, WC, Bathroom, Ensuite, WIR's, Entry and Hallway. Also 1 in each bay of Triple Garage PLUS at various points under eaves around house for sensor and security lights.
• 3 x outdoor GPO's + 2 x GPO's under eaves at front for Christmas lights.
• Data cables to Computer Desk
• TV Antenna
• Extra Double GPO's to all rooms
• 6 x TV Points

We plan to replace all Baton Holders with our own choice of lights after handover.



DA approved by Council

Wow, 1 week from submitting plans to DA approval. Didn't think it would be that quick. Thankyou Lake Macquarie Council.

I got a call today saying that our plans were submitted to council. Hopefully they are passed through quickly.

Variation for Bathroom

Received and signed the variation for the Bathroom and WC to be extended out under the eaves. Bit disappointed though about having to pay an administration fee of $1000. Maybe MJH needs to have a  "one get out of jail free card" in case you forget something after signing off. With all that's going on with the initial stages of building a house, it would be a nice gesture. I will suggest this to them at the end of our build.

Contracts Signed

Contracts were presented and signed today and our CLO informed us he is moving into a different department. Dean will be our new CLO.

Loan Approved

We received news from the bank today. Our loan is approved but we didn't get everything we wanted e.g. fencing, retaining. Also thinking over the Christmas break, we have made a variation to the bathroom & WC with them being moved out under the eaves and installing a freestanding bath. The $1000 admin fee wasn't welcomed but I think we would of kicked ourselves if we didn't do it.

Land Settled

28/11/2013

After waiting patiently for 10 months, our land settled today. Now we are waiting for our financial institution to value everything.
