Electrical & Splashback Completed.

29/7/2014

The end is nigh! All electrical work has now been completed and the "loud" splashback was installed today. I also spoke with the SS and he said the cleaners are booked for next Monday then I will have a walkthrough with him on Friday week. The carpet and bamboo flooring is going in on the 12th August and I have H.K.Ryan inspecting the house on the 14th which I have a list of faults with photos that I will go through with him. Call me pedantic but being a Tradesman myself I can pick out faults a lot easier than most people. On the whole though they are not to major and I'm sure MJH will have them rectified.

I'm glad I got this now.

My wife's choice, not mine. Not sure if I like it yet but it is out there.

This little baby should satisfy my wife's long showers.

Façade Painted!

23/7/2014

The Façade was painted yesterday and we are happy with the outcome. They stained the front door and timber posts in Caoba but it looks different to the roller doors. I will discuss this with the SS along with a list of things I have found. H.K.Ryan will be our independent inspector so hopefully he will pick up what I have found. Things like missing paint on the downpipes and above internal doors not complete, grouting for the tiles.
Some photos from today of the Façade and from the back of the house.

Tiling Completed and Painting Started!

17/7/2014

I dropped in this morning to see the grout for the tiles being applied in both Bathrooms and the Laundry. The Tiler said it would be completed by the end of the day. The painters were onsite and prepping the walls to start painting. The glass splashback was measured yesterday and the bench tops for the Bathroom, Ensuite and Kitchen arrived.

Architraves, Jambs & Doors Installed

12/7/2014

All the doors, jambs and architraves are now installed. Steve who installed them is also adding an extra Lin door for the Home Theatre after handover as this will cover the skirting because of the 15mm difference due to the carpet and bamboo flooring having different heights.

2nd Walk-Through

8/7/2014

We had our second walk-through with the SS today. The carpenter was busy with the door jambs and doors which all are now installed. The tiling is planned to start next week after the cabinets and tops are installed. The painters are after that then final electrical work to be completed. The Bamboo flooring and carpets to go in last. He gave a tentative estimation of 7 weeks which is not that long. We don't plan to move in immediately as I want the driveway, ducted A/C, solar panels and shutters completed and we don't need to get out of our house as we own it. That reminds me, I better contact the Real Estate agent to arrange preparation for placing it on the market just in time for Spring. I thought I would take the opportunity to snap some pics while I was with the SS.

Finally a shot with no Tradie cars out the front and Garage doors down.

Kitchen and Downpipes

2/7/2014

More activity today with the downpipes being attached which means no more pooling of water around the house. Although it probably won't rain now for the rest of Winter. Also I spoke with the Kitchen installer, nice bloke, and he said he will be finished by Friday. The basins for the bathrooms also turned up. I only managed to get a few photos as my camera was playing up.
