Frames have Arrived!

24/4/2014

The frames arrived today and also noticed we have power and water connected. Most probably won't start framing until Monday or Tuesday next week letting the slab cure properly.

The Termite barrier was laid down today and a mini excavator flatten the dirt out the front. I spoke with the operator and he said the frames are to arrive tomorrow.

Piering Completed

15/4/2014

Got a tip off the next door neighbour this morning that there was some action happening on our block. Went to check it out and found that formwork had started. I spoke to one of the workers and he said piering was to be done today. With the weather starting to take a turn for the worse, I was off fishing with the family in a boat we had hired for the morning. I wanted to hang around and watch proceedings but spending time with my family took precedence. Returning from the family outing I found that piering had been completed and more formwork laid up. I also miss a call from our SS so returned the call to find to my complete shock that piering had gone over by a staggering 40 lineal metres. He said the engineer had trouble finding suitable ground and one hole was over 2 metres in depth. This is the part I can't work out, the next door neighbour only had 27 lineal metres and I 89.5. Either i've been taken for a ride or the neighbour has come up short. I wish I was there to speak to the engineer now. Anyway 100 or so pods were delivered and if the weather behaves, our slab will be down on Thursday but guess what, as I write this its raining again. In the last 2 months we have had over 400mm of rain which has broke a 43 year old record for this period for this area.

Plumbing Done

4/4/2014

Had a look this afternoon and the plumbing has been completed and we now have a fence. Piering next week and hopefully formwork done too. Received an email from our CLO explaining that we may need 70lm of concrete for piering. We already increased it to 50lm so not sure how engineering could be so far out with calculations. If they did that in my field of work, they would be in the coroners court.

Site Cut

3/4/2014

I was walking home this morning from the train station after a 12hr shift when a semi with a dozer went past. It turned up at our street and stopped at our block. Cool. After a 6 hour snooze I found this had been done.

We Have a Loo

26/3/2014

Drove past today and we have a toilet and a green silt retaining fence plus a MJH sign. Things are happening.

Electrical Appointment

19/2/2014

Today I attended our electrical appointment by myself as my wife had to visit the doctors. Peter our consultant went through a lot of things and frankly I wish I had more time as two hours went by very quickly. Anyway I only went over budget by $400 and managed to get a lot for $6K.
